Curriculum

We use Project Based Learning from PBL Works for the core of our work in the Carriage House . These 3-4 week projects are designed by our admin & teachers to reflect the interests of the group while meeting state standard competencies. Harvard Project Zero protocols are used to encourage visible thinking and 6 Cs skills. Direct Instruction in Social Emotional Learning twice a week. Jo Boaler, YouCubed and Eureka math direct instruction with fact fluency through games by Graham Fletcher. Orton Gillingham for early readers and novel studies and ELA for proficient readers. Lots of outdoor time, hiking and community visits in our vans! Pod 2 attends a sleepover Environmental Camp in the spring.

We use a “new report card” that includes these 6 Cs to document progress throughout the school year. Documentation and assessment of student work is displayed in the student portfolio on SeeSaw that parents can access for live updates throughout the day.
